Operation Beautiful Lines
Jan. 25th, 2010 12:44 amThese are the phrases I've collected and want to put on my origami hearts.
I have a bit of an allergy to the word "beautiful" actually, because it's so "female" oriented. I'd prefer using "gorgeous" and "amazing". "Gorgeous" is still female-ish but not so strongly, in my brain at least. "Handsome" is male oriented ... I actually can't think of any words which mean the same as beauatiful/handsome but don't have any gender assumptions built in. That sucks... can anybody else come up with any?
Where it says "beautiful/gorgeous/amazing" or other slash separated lists it means the same whole phrase 3 times, using each different word one time.
I'd love comments on the list too ... lines you particularly love/hate ... suggestions, etc.
(they're only in alphabetical order because I was removing duplicates from the list :))
If I expand all of the phrases there's quite a few more than 35 there ... not sure what to do about that. I have to prune some of them, but which ones?
Cheers,
Ricky

Not sure that I agree, although I must admit, when I talk about beautiful men, I'm usually talking about the whole package (ahem, I mean including personality and values and stuff), while with women I might just be talking about appearance. But I'm all for gender neutralising it, like we successfully did with mateship in the last decade or two.
(When I was 11, I was in the back of a car somewhere in Italy. My parents were lost and asked for directions, and the two very hot women they asked said they thought I was beautiful. I wish that had rubbed in more.)
