So, it's really bloody hot here in Melbourne today - it's 34C now which is also the predicted top temperature. It's the first icky hot day of the summer, pretty much.

The good nows is that I have located the tiny remote control for the machine. It was on the bench behind the soda water machine, of course!

The bad news is that the remote control isn't working. I'm not sure if it's broken or if the batteries are just flat. Batteries have been put back in the recharger though, so we'll know soon ...

Feel like a wrung out dishrag. I really hate hot days.

I hope everybody who's hot today is coping.

Staying in the bottom level of the townhouse. All windows closed, all blinds down, big bottle of cold water next time. It's quite pleasant actually.

Its just been disgusting today, the north wind makes it unbearable. Had a headache for the last 2 days and not coping with it. The change is bliss though!

at 34° C, i'd be severely ill, probably needing IV fluids and an environment cooled to a non-life-threatening temperature around 20° C. on the other hand, it's 34° F here, which means that i might even need to turn the heat on indoors (although sleeping under an extra doona and/or an extra blanket may be enough). actually, the current weather makes me quite happy...

better than my machine is. when the ambient temperature goes up, the cpu fan's ability to keep the cpu cool goes down. if i was rich, i could buy a freezer and transfer the problem a few feet back. maybe get a second freezer and put it around the heat transfer coils of the first one. and then a third, and a fourth..

Have you ever used the EUTECTIC salt coolers? It's a bandana (or vest) that contains a chemical solution that stays cool at room temp. (chemical never touches you; recharge by soaking in cold water) they're sold in to hikers and construction workers here in US.
