Finally caved to the inevitable and asked Melbourne Animal Rescue to find a new foster carer for Tammy kitten after having her here for 15 months. I'll be heartbroken to see her go but my not-technically-allergies mast cell condition is getting worse and worse and worse and I can feel myself reacting to her every time she comes close :(
I was doing pretty well at pretending the cat hair wasn't affecting me until yesterday when I brushed her a bit of cat hair got on my doona cover and then later on when I lay down I got very reactive straight away ... and when I turned the doona upside down so the cat hair wasn't right near me it cleared up. I knew I was reacting always *when* I brushed her but that's only once per day ... this was really clearly a reaction just to having the cat hair near me!
Taking this many drugs for it and not actually removing her from my house is not working anyway, even if it *was* sensible to be doing it.
Here's hoping that somebody miraculously wants to adopt her in the nekt week or so ... http://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/148771 please share her listing around if you know people who live in Melbourne, Australia!
I'll keep my other cat Anekin as he is a short haired Burmese and does not shed neaaaarly as much as darling Tammy. Hopefully that'll be enough to settle things down for now.. Fingers crossed!

Tammy sounds a lot like my cat Marie (does not like being picked up, very shy at first, hides when frightened) and she is an awesome cat after you have some patience with her. There is a good home for her out there.
